This Christmasy treat has proven quite popular with Mr. Husband: Palmier Cookies from The Great Christmas Cookie Swap Cookbook from Good Housekeeping.
I won't lie to you: these are easy to make, but they are a fair bit of work. Refrigeration is necessary at every step of the way and getting all the palmiers to a uniform golden colour is a bit tricky. But the cookies are delicious so it's all worth it, in the end.

How weird! I made these last Christmas and they were a big hit with my dad and sister. I was JUST thinking about them and wondering where I could find the recipe again (I couldn't remember what they were called).
Thanks (for posting the recipe and for reading my mind)! :-)
yw glad I could help :-)
Wow - those are beautiful cookies! I wish I could bake. Maybe I can pass on the recipe to my mother and still be able to partake :)
I've not heard of them but they look great! I might need to google the recipe.
You can also do these with store bought puff pastry - but you'll have to google how cause I can't remember. I might try that this year since I'm kind of short on baking time. :-)
heather, it's on the GoodHousekeeping site: http://www.goodhousekeeping.com/recipefinder/palmiers-2768
